D’Oh…
July 28th, 2007
For 18 years, people all over the world have been tuning into watch the antics of Bart, Homer, Lisa, Marge and Maggie. The Simpsons have become not only recognizable by all but an integral part of the culture of my generation. For 18 seasons, this family has been trapped in time. Excluding the first season, there is really no way to distinguish any of the episodes from one season to the next which adds to the appeal of such a show. No storyline to follow. A seasoned fan or Simpsons virgin can enjoy each episode together in harmony. There are no backstories to explain, character plots to unveil.
It seems like almost everyone who’s anyone has been been “Simpsonized”. U2, Sting, Conan O’Brian, Neil Armstrong, Mickey Rooney, and Dick Clark are just a few of the familiar faces who have found their way into Springfield either as themselves or as a voice actor so you can spend 3o minutes pondering who that familiar voice is. One of my dear friends, Marilee, loved The Simpsons and would have love to have seen that after so many years, this family has finally graduated to the big screen. Zac and I took sometime today to transport ourselves into the Simpsons family. It’s amazing what the tell-tale yellow skin and overbite can do to take you to another place and time. This is my masterpiece… Laurel Simpson in the kitchen. Yeah, that pretty much rocks.

Music is my life. Everything can be expressed, handled or just felt more deeply with the right chord or phrase. I have been blessed with some amazing friends and am still at that point where my life is an open book. If you’d like, stick around for a bit and help me write a few chapters…
